MUSEITUP BLOG Besides being here at my own blog, I’ll have a post at http://www.museituppublishing.blogspot.co.uk talking about Holidays, Recipes, and My Books. Free copies of our books are a possibility for those who comment.

I spent time Wednesday putting together a little thank you gift for the Vet and staff who took care of Scout & Simon. As many of you know, we lost them in July, the same month my first book released. It’s been a tough several months. One of the things I did to help with the grief process was to write a letter to the editor cheering the wonderful team at VCA Animal Medical Hospital. I’ve been meaning to frame the letter with a picture of the pups to give to Dr. Barger. Finally got that finished Wednesday and am taking it by today. After a second attempt, the pups’ names are still not entirely straight, but I decided it was good enough. Image may be NSFW.

CAMERAS
Last year, the neighborhood I live in began to experience a slew of break-ins. Scary-in- the-middle-of-the-day-with-people-at-home kinds of break-ins. Eons ago, when my daughters were quite young, someone broke in to our house. Thank God, we were not home. I remember that awful sense of violation and helplessness. This is a one-way-in-and-out neighborhood. No gates, but still, we’ve always felt safe. Stats showed we were one of the safest neighborhoods in the city.
I’ve written about our neighborhood coffees. People watch out for each other. But we wanted to do more. My immediate neighbors and I installed cameras on our house.Image may be NSFW.

CELL PHONES
I wrote a couple of weeks ago about my old iPhone going on the fritz, and I got the new phone in this picture.Image may be NSFW.

He worked with me for more than an hour to get the connection up and going again. I’d explain all the issues, but I don’t understand all of them. Image may be NSFW.

SOCIAL MEDIA RULES
Social Media rules declare discussion of politics (and a few other things) taboo. However, today is the day the country would’ve defaulted on our bills. As I write this, I’m unsure how the vote will go on the deal brokered by the leading Republican Senator, Mitch McConnell and the leading Democrat Senator, Harry Reid. My sincere thanks to these two gentlemen for putting the country above partisan considerations. Image may be NSFW.

BLOG RULES
I recently read a great post by my friend Jo-Anna Carson on her blog about things you should and shouldn’t do when you blog. My Top Ten Blogging Tips for New Writers. Being the rule follower that I am, I’ve tried to institute a couple here. More space and bold letters for two. I’ve tried not to write so much, but by the time I’m finished, this won’t be much shorter than usual. Image may be NSFW.

So what about you? What’s your experience as the victim of a break-in or theft? How do you feel about the use of cameras on residences and business? Are you a fan of the CBS show, “Person of Interest”? Do you have any horrifying stories to share about your phone? As always, I’d love to hear from you on anything we’ve touched on today.
